BHC was involved with the development of this site for a number of years and carried out an enabling works contract in 2013. Further to the building being sold to new owners, GHL (Strand) Ltd, we were asked to submit proposals for the structural alterations, extension and external façade improvement in preparation for conversion to a new hotel.

The scope of works was to deliver a striking glazed and stone façade to the building along with a new eighth floor glazed extension. All works were
undertaken while the two restaurants at ground and lower ground floor remained trading, and with live telecommunications equipment at roof level.

The final element of works was the replacement of the restaurant shop fronts and entrances in a short timescale, so as to minimise the impact upon
their trade.
