St Philip’s House, Birmingham

St Philip’s House looks out over the grounds of St Philip’s Cathedral in the centre of Birmingham. The listed front section of the building was formerly the Bishop’s residence and had been extended in two stages to the rear, and consequently consists of three different types of structure. Six-storeys of offices were refurbished to CAT A standard with remodelled toilet cores. The main staircase and reception area were also refurbished, and a new lift installed. A new disabled access ramp was constructed at the front of the building, requiring listed building consent.
